1. Overview
Apps by SAHARA ("we", "us", "our") makes ContextLoom, a local-first macOS app, and runs this website, contextloom.app. The two handle data very differently, so this policy covers them separately. In short: the app collects nothing, and the website uses Google Analytics to understand how it's used.
2. The app: data we collect
None. The ContextLoom app does not collect, store, transmit or process any personal data, usage data, workspace files or document content. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no telemetry, and it makes no network calls of its own — the Markdown preview renders locally from scripts bundled inside the app. There is no account, sign-in or registration. The app's privacy manifest declares no data collected and no tracking.
3. The app: your files stay on your Mac
ContextLoom reads and writes files only inside the folders you open in it. Opening a project writes nothing into it; the app adds a ContextDB folder or appends to your CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md only when you ask it to. Git activity is read locally from your repository and nothing is ever committed, pushed or sent anywhere. Files recognized as secrets, such as .env files and private keys, are never rendered in the preview, never added to a Context Bundle and never created in the synced Notes workspace. Context Bundles are copied to your clipboard on your Mac; what you do with them afterwards is up to you.
4. The app: iCloud sync for Notes
ContextLoom syncs one thing: its built-in Notes workspace, through your own iCloud Drive, when iCloud is available on your Mac. Sync runs during the free trial and with ContextLoom Pro. Your project folders are never synced by ContextLoom. The synced notes are stored in your iCloud account under Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy; we never see, access or process them. To stop syncing, turn off iCloud Drive for ContextLoom in System Settings under your Apple Account's iCloud settings. Separately, if you keep a project inside a folder that macOS itself syncs — such as Desktop and Documents with iCloud enabled — macOS syncs it, not ContextLoom, and the app shows a warning on secret files in that folder.
5. The app: what is stored on your Mac
To work, the app keeps a few things locally: your preferences, your list of workspaces with the folder-access permissions macOS grants for them, and the start date of your free trial. They stay on your Mac and are never sent to us.
6. The app: purchases and crash reports
ContextLoom is distributed through the Mac App Store, and the ContextLoom Pro unlock is an in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We don't receive your payment details or your Apple Account. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in System Settings under Privacy & Security, Apple may share crash reports and basic diagnostics about ContextLoom with us. You control that setting, and it can be turned off at any time.
7. The website: analytics and cookies
This website, contextloom.app, uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and understand which pages are useful. Google Analytics records information such as the pages you view, the site that referred you, your approximate location, and your device and browser type, and it sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell one visit from the next. This data is processed by Google under Google's privacy policy; according to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We use it only to improve the site. We don't sell it, and we don't use it to identify you.
8. The website: your choices
You can visit the site without Google Analytics by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser, using a content blocker, or installing Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). The site works the same either way. Nothing on the website asks you to sign in, and it has no forms.
9. The website: hosting
The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare processes the technical information every web request carries, such as your IP address and browser type, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We don't use that information to identify you.
10. Contacting us
If you email us at support@appsbysahara.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and we use it only to reply to you.
11. Children's privacy
ContextLoom and this website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The app collects no data from anyone.
12. Changes to this policy
If our data practices change, we will update this policy and the date at the top of this page. Any data collection by the app would always be opt-in and clearly disclosed.
